"You've Come a Long Way, Baby"
 

From 1969 through the 1980s, the United States Tennis Association produced a 30-minute U.S. Open tournament highlight film.  In 1973, the title of the film was "You've Come a Long Way, Baby" and featured the bold and bright colors of women's tennis fashion. Of course, the film's title was the slogan of the Virginia Slims women's professional tour. 

Shown here is the opening sequence of the film, and many women stars can be spotted: Margaret Court, Evonne Goolagong, Chris Evert, Rosie, Nancy Richey Gunter, Kerry Melville, Jeanne Evert, Ann Kiyomura, Francoise Durr, Billie Jean King, Julie Anthony, Julie Heldman and others.

The shots of Billie Jean King are taken from the women's doubles final, in which Margaret Court and Virginia Wade beat Rosie and Billie 3-6 6-3 7-5.
